For my music magazine, I have chosen an underground music theme. I have done this because I believe that in the market right now, there is not an outlet for people who are not fans of mainstream music, to receive information on new, underground artists. The name of my magazine will be "Behind The Mike". To decide this name, I conducted a survey for music fans aged 15-30 and the name Behind The Mike, came out as the most popular.
Reader Profile- Tristan.
Tristan is a 17 year old musician from Camden. He is currently doing his a levels and studies Biology, Chemistry, Music and English Literature. He plays many instruments that include, Guitar, Drums Piano and Saxophone. Tristan is the lead guitarist in a band called "Medicinal" His band frequently competes in garage music competitions, and are quickly gaining recognition within the UK underground scene. His band have done many collaborations, and always make the effort to try and put together concerts including other Indie/Indie Rap bands, to raise awareness of the expanding creme of underground artists coming up through the ranks. This magazine would be very helpful to him, it would help him in his discovery of bands and individual artists, that could fill up the line up when he does arrange a concert. Not only this, but this magazine could help his bands bid for recognition. They Feel that they have exhausted the use of social networking sites for promotion, and their bands would more than benefit from a form of promotion and distribution that is shop bought. Hence the magazine.
